Engineering Manager (Financial Services)

We are looking for a talented and experienced Engineering Manager to join our team at Moladin Financial Services. The Engineering Manager II will be responsible for leading a Tribe, comprising a group of squads dedicated to a specific business domain. In the role of Tech Leaders Manager, you will oversee Tribe product and engineering initiatives, as well as Tech Objectives and Key Results (OKR).

Responsibilities

• You will be a manager of managers in a Tribe consisting of multiple squads that focus on a particular business domain.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, the Business Development Team, and the Technical Program Manager to ensure the successful execution of the department’s product initiatives.
• Ensure the attainment of Tech Objectives and Key Results (OKR) while fulfilling Engineering scorecards.
• Contribute to day-to-day engineering excellence and ensure the timely resolution of critical issues in accordance with the specified Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Apply engineering best practices to the team, setting high standards to enhance existing systems and processes.
• Take responsibility for mentoring engineers through regular knowledge-sharing sessions, creating learning modules, and facilitating the onboarding of new team members.
• Play an active role in the hiring process, participating in interview sessions and formulating interview questions.
• Propose innovative ideas and actively contribute to engineering initiatives aimed at improving system performance, quality, and availability.
• Generate comprehensive documentation for complex initiatives and oversee the Tribe’s deliverables.

Requirements

• Over 7 years of valuable experience in the software development industry.
• A minimum of 2 years served in the capacity of an Engineering Manager or Tech Lead within a dynamic tech startup environment.
• Extensive experience working with Agile methodologies (i.e: Scrum amp; Kanban) and familiar with Project Management tools such as JIRA.
• Experience in performing detailed project estimation and capacity planning.
• A generalist who has a fair understanding of Backend, Web, Mobile App, QA, and DevOps engineering processes.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly on Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform.
• Proficient in at least one of the following programming languages: NodeJS or Go.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing highly available systems with high throughput.
• Preference for candidates with prior experience in the financial services industry.
