Job Description

We generate philanthropic support from major donors and foundations, and we contract with government and business partners. The candidate will ideally have some experience of one or all of these revenue channels. The person must be a highly organized project manager, who can support a diverse team of program staff and fundraising professionals in hitting goals and staying on task. The team is worldwide, and the work will be largely online and could be based in Asia or America. This role will own process outcomes related to our fundraising and business development work, contributing to our ambitious unrestricted revenue and program resourcing team-based targets. The candidate must thrive on meeting deadlines while building strong connections with key stakeholders globally, collaborating with leaders across New Energy Nexus to use the tools of our trade and develop new and compelling funding opportunities to cultivate, solicit and steward partners. If you have experience in entrepreneurial support organizations, all the better but not required.

The purpose of this role is to enable the Abundance team to deliver on the organization’s critical targets for charitable fundraising and mission-driven revenue sourcing. This role ensures the Abundance team is effectively sharing knowledge, operating smoothly and collaborating well amongst its members and with the internal New Energy Nexus abundance community (approximately 15 staff across the globe).

  • Manage the end-to-end workflow for key income opportunities, including document management, work plan and deadline management and effective information gathering from outside sources; and instruct and support other A-team members in managing similar processes to completion.
  • Manage a monthly pipeline updating process as part of the A-team meetings cadence and project workflow to report to finance for cash flow forecasting; Hold team members accountable to deadlines, go/no-go decisions, and timely updates so that plans and budgets are timely.
  • Create and maintain a library of tools and best practices - as well as documented abundance learnings - to improve on how the abundance team delivers against OKRs.
  • Support CEO (who is also the A-team sponsor) with internal and external stakeholder communications (ghost writing, research, note taking, management of follow-ups, database maintenance etc) to focus sponsor’s activities on biggest impact
  • Work with the development, partnerships and impact measurement staff to create compelling proposals, cultivate new prospects, and educate existing donors amp; partners.
  • Track and manage performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Own and routinely facilitate strategic and operational meetings for the A-team

Requirements

  • Performance management experience including budget and finance management with project management skills
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, time management skills and the ability to balance responsibilities that range from external relationship-building to internal strategy
  • Prior experience in fundraising for organizations or programs related to energy, climate, technology, or social entrepreneurship and financial innovation
  • Collaborate and effectively manage across and up within the organization, with experience navigating complex internal structures.
  • Results-oriented and thrive within a fast-paced, high-growth organizational culture. Embrace opportunity and be able to demonstrate flexibility and creativity in your approach while maintaining a strong ethical and values-alignment.
  • Prior experience in an international organization, SaaS, CRM software and some financial planning experience would be advantageous
  • Experience managing vendors or other stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of work experience
