Job Description
This Software Engineering position is a unique and interesting new role for the Business Assurance team to enable their access to business systems and complex data sources for analysis and assessment. This role reports to the team-lead and is a part of the Security function of the business.
This role is wide ranging in scope requiring an engineer with software, systems, data and security experience. You will provide the key engineering and technical capability to the Business Assurance team enabling this team to meet their business objectives. You will be required to determine appropriate and secure mechanisms to access a variety of business systems, establish secure/forensic data-repositories, perform data migration and data analysis tasks.
The successful candidate will be a team-player that understands how to engage with other business stakeholders and set expectations with the Business Assurance team.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership to the Business Assurance team.
- Establish working relationships with business system stakeholders to establish data access.
- Ensure the security and integrity of business data in all formats.
- Establish data access to a wide variety of business systems and provide the team with access.
- Set technical expectations with the Business Assurance team.
- Write automated tools and tests to collect data and make it available to the team in a controlled manner.
- Ensure data access is provided in a loggable and auditable manner.
- Collaborate with other engineers specializing in backend systems and security systems.
- Apply design patterns and design principles to produce maintainable and easy to extend code.
- Learn multiple tech stacks to use the best tools for the job.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience developing with languages such as Ruby, Python, Golang, SQL.
- Experience and demonstrated skills in the Software Engineering lifecycle - planning, development, testing, deployment, operations and maintenance.
- Experience deploying systems and into containerized environments.
- Strong documentation and system diagramming skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent in relevant work experience.
- Experience with cyber-security in online-marketplace settings is a plus.
